v magazine cover

The first magazine i have chosen to look at is V magzine. A very hip , trendy and modern music and style magazine which intergrates music, fashion and lifestlye. An immediate sense of luxuriousness and extravagance is projected from the cover , the contrast between the dull teal colour in the backround with the electric and bold pink presented in the foreground creates a rough feminity feel to the magazine. This allows people not to assume that the magazine is targeted at woman only , but also men due to the mix of masculinity and feminity portrayed on the cover. Direct adress is used to an excellent extent on the cover as from the main image of Model Natalia Vodianavana and her rock star boyfriend , they are staring intently into the customers eyes. The direct use presented on this cover will allow customers to share a much stronger intamicy between the cover models. Consequently resulting in the customer to relate to the cover models , and beleive by purchasing the magazine they can relate to them and aspire to be them. V magazine's clever use of slogan's , the main one being ' High voltage' creates a strong theme on the cover. The static and electric effect used on the magazines title , links to the magazines title ' high voltage' and ' V glow' and supports the magazines aestetic and theme , of bold and new. The main and only image used on the cover is of Supermodel Natalia Vodianavana and her italian rock star boyfriend , Marcel Castenmiller. By using a model superstar and a music genius , the variance created allows the maagzine to attract both men and woman as the models are targeting two different industries in which are highly attractive. The layout as presented on the cover can only be described as simple, minimalistic yet at the same time dynamic and futuristic. The mode of language is slighlty more mature than what you would find on a pop magazine , the language is understandable yet sets a mature and intellectuall tone to the magazine. The text ' High voltage' could perhaps link to the chemistry between the couple displayed on the cover , emphasising the intimiacy between the two. The second title ' V glow' could be perceived as a description of the radiant glow given of from the models beauty.
