I would attract my audience by using Sub headings and titles on the front of my cover that targets peoples needs and wants from the genre of music my magazine specialises in. The subheadings would encapsulate the issues involved in the issue therefore the audience is immediatly informed and addressed. The title of my music magazine is ' Invoke' I chose to call my magazine this as the defintion of Invoke is to release and convey a feeling or expression after being influenced to by a certain factor ,in this case music is the factor invoking the audience to feel a certain way. The model used on my cover is staring directly into the camera which creates a strong intimacy and a greater relationship with the model and the audiences. This adresses the audience directly makes the magazine more accesable. The body language portrayed by my cover model is inviting and allows the audience to feel un-threatened by the model as her arms are not folded , neither is she looking down or away from the audience. The model i chose to use does not posess physical features that may intimidate or demean the audience as she does not portray any superiority.
My media product that i produced represents a particular social group , that group being 'independant,anti-comformists ,music orientated individuals. The genre of my music magazine is ' indie pop' , aimed at indivuduals in a particualar social groups that are interested in this genre of music. My product represents a group of people that do not comform to one type of music and therefore are intersted in an almagamtion of two types of music , that genre being indie pop. It represents the group as not comforming to one stereotype and therefore the social group would be anti-comformists. It represents a particualr social group that differ from your sterotypical social group of 'popluar people' and 'unpopular people' , my product represents a more independant and exempt from being branded interms of their status in society , they are free and much more self sufficient , focusing more on their involvment in music and in particular inidie pop music. The audience for my music magazine would be male and females from the age 14-40. The reason being is i feel fourteen years of age is when people being to develop intellectually and mature in their taste of music , therefore being able to appreciate a genre of music such as indie pop and to be able to read a magazine centered around that genre. I also felt that my audience would range up to fourty because more mature people past that age , especially elderely people tend involve themselves in more mature music , not a genre such as indie pop. Also the audience for my media product would be between that age because i feel people of a more mature age tend not to associate with magazines that have no relevence to the issues in their lives. The audience for my media product would also be individuals with a passion for music and a specialised interest in indie pop music as my magazine is specified in that genre it is aimed towards people with a interest in that genre of music.

Layout.

When creating my media product i again began by studying other indie pop magazines and what conventions i could carry through onto my own production from the examples i had studied. After researching into three other types of music magazines whilst focusing on the genre of music closest to mine ( indie pop ). Whilst studying Q magazine i was able to see ample amount of conventions i could use on my own media production having studied Q magazines layout. I feel my magazine cover use many strong conventions. These conventions being a clean cut and simple yet aesthetically pleasing. Three subheadings are placed along side the left hand side of the cover , whilst only one subheading is placed to the right , this keeps the cover looking deatailed and intriguing whilst at the same time avoids looking cluttered and too informational. A typical convention of a music magazine is to use interesting and exciting fonts on the subheading , i however challenged this convnetion and kept to using simple and mature styled fonts instead of less formal fonts. Another convention of music magazines , and in particular indie pop magazines is to use ample amounts of images and text on the cover to entice the audience. Again i chose to challenge this convention as i felt to much text and imagery would distract from the cover model , which in my magazine was the central theme as she was portraying an indie pop star. The layout in my contents page follows that of the conventions used in a music magazine i studied. The chose to use the conventions of again a simple and neat layout , with the contents information placed to the left side of the page. I chose to use this convention as i think it is a strong foundation to develop upon to create a contents page that fits your genre of theme in your magazine. A typical convention of other media products is to use rather large and bold font in the contents page , this convention was present in Base magazines contents page. I however chose to challenge this convention and use medium size fonts as i feel large font is too pretentious and overpowers the rest of the page content. The convnetions of layout that used on my double page spread both used and challenged conventions i had studied in other media products. When researching into Q magazine and Base magazines double page spread the conventions that were apparent were that images of models were the dominant feature on the page used to emphasise that the spread was centered around the model. This convention was usually portrayed by using a close up or medium close up of the model to able them to dominate the spread , i challenged this convention by using a long shot of my model and placing her inbetween the interview on the spread to indicate the two items equal level of importance on the double page.
